What's Been Occurring Wednesday #16

Hello lovelies! I hope it is nice and sunny wherever you are - it was here this morning, but it's gone all cloudy now. Boo!

As you may know, I will be 30 on the 25th May, so to celebrate this milestone, and commiserate the fact that I will officially be OLD, you can get 25% off in my Etsy shop for the whole of May using code "30YEARS" - you can use this on any item in the shop, including custom orders!

So what I have I been up to this week?

Crafting: I was a busy little bee last week. One day I sat myself down with my felt, scissors and needle and thread, no patterns, and this is what happened:

The bow brooch has been in my head for weeks, just waiting to get out of my brain and into felt.  I have another little idea I want to have a go at too. Maybe next week. I love the little envelope: perfect for #PostCircle people and snail mail fans!

I've nearly finished my patchwork cross stitch picture too - I just have the border to finish now. I've found this lovely pattern on The Making Spot which I might make next.

Watching: Endeavor. As you will know, I am a big fan of the 'whodunnit' crime drama. Martin and I loved watching Lewis, and when we spotted that ITV had made a prequel to Morse, we knew it would be just our thing. It is set in 1965 and I am forever pausing it to point out little details to Martin - which annoys him no end! But the sets and scenery (and costumes) are so wonderful!

Reading: The new issue of Homemaker magazine bought last week when i was in Sainsbury's. It came with a lovely little Print & Pattern booklet, with some pretty Mengsel prints, including this one, which  I will be putting in Zoe's room:

I'm also loving this post about stationery and #PostCircle by the Pampered Sparrow and this post about Skyrim from Lara Theme.

Buying: More stationery! This is getting out of hand, really, I mean, how much stationery does one girl need?! This time, I bought a few bits and pieces from Kawaii Shop Japan. They have such a fantastic range of kawaii stationery, and it is quite cheap and the postage is low, considering everything is sent from Japan. The customer service was excellent (lots of lovely little emails from Miki updating me on my order) and my items arrived so quickly! I was amazed by how soon they plopped through the letterbox!

Miki also sent me a few little extra note papers - cute!!

I used a few of these stickers to decorate my boring phone case. Whee!!
(By the way, this is not a sponsored post, I was just super happy with the service! But if Miki would like to send me some freebies for a review, I won't say no haha!)

WINNING: I've been super lucky this week, and won a little fox notebook from Munch in Anna's competition over at Crafting Fingers. It arrived yesterday and is super cute!

I was also runner up in Claire's crafty giveaway - the prize being a box of her homemade vanilla macarons! I am SO excited about this - I've wanted to try macarons for years, but haven't found any in the 'lisle. Claire's been teasing me, posting photos of the macarons-in-progress. Can't wait!!

Thanks for reading
Ax

  2. I love kawaii stationery. It's so adorable. :) I just recently passed a bunch of it on to some friends but I still have so much more still. I can easily see how it's hard to stop buying it. :)
